Daddy's Birthday

(to be dated 17 Oct 2010)

Birthday card for our beloved man of the family on his birthday :)
We love you so so much and we thank God for giving us you.
To the love of my life:
You are my best friend. Thank you for being such a wonderful help and support in the house, in homeschooling, in my ministry. You're always patient in listening and being there for me. I could not have gone this far and done this much without your constant encouragement and prayers. It has been a joy being with you and I've learnt quite a few things from you. Thank for for trusting me as a wife and believing in me. You are truly God's gift to me. I thank God for you and how He has bonded us deeply. You will always have our support and our love.

I pray that God will continue to strengthen you, bless you with wisdom and surround you with His favor and clothed you with His empowerment always.

Swimming

Skye and Trinity go for their swimming class every sat noon.
Last Sat, on the way to class, we said a short prayer asking Jesus to help the kids with learning
the strokes and co-ordinations and also for protection.
During the class, we witness how God answered our prayer. For some weeks, Skye has been struggling with getting the strokes done well and controlling breathing underwater. But this week, all his kicks were good, and strokes well co-ordinated. And he was more in control of his body and breathing. Even his coach also commented that. And even for Trinity, s
he took a step further in allowing her mouth to go in the water when she swam.
Kids were definitely proud of themselves.
Thank You Lord for answering our simple prayer and showing Yourself true and real to Skye and Trinity. I love how You're always ready to show Yourself to kids who believe and trust in You with their purest hearts. Thank You, sweet Jesus.

Skye's drawing

Last wed morning, Skye came to me with this drawing. He told me it is a picture of him all grown up and he is preaching behind the pulpit. I asked him where he was. He thought for a second or two and said America. And I found it was so interesting that he even added in the podium mic!
Maybe it shouldn't come as a surprise (but it still did). Few years back, the Lord impressed upon my heart that Skye would be a preacher/pastor, like his grandfather and in time to come, his own daddy. And Trinity would be more like an evangelist/warrior.
I felt like this drawing was some kind of comfort to me too, that God is still speaking to me, still pursuing me and wanting to reveal more to me. How can I not feel loved when my heavenly Father pursues me this way, through my kids, in my everyday life.

Entering into this new phase as a family has indeed been exciting. The baby is coming and Josh has gotten a promotion. I've been just so overwhelmed by the display of God's favor upon our lives.
I thank God for the opportunity to stay at home with the kids and the calling to homeschool them. It is through the hours we spent together at home that i get to witness how they are adjusting into this new phase.
Skye has really grown and mature in his role as a big brother. He loves his sister and really can't be apart from her without a good cause :) Last Sunday, Josh and I were leading on stage. And no one was sitting with the kids, so I told Skye to take care of his sis. And whenever it was time to refer to scriptures, Skye would take out his bible, searched for it and showed it to Trinity. And during offering time, he gave trinity the money and prompted her to put in the offering bag. I was so proud of him as i witnessed all these from the stage. And when it was time to leave for sunday sch, he came up to the stage and gave both of us a hug. He's such a darling.
At home, he does his chores willing, and sometimes even help out without being told. He clears the dryer, cleans the dining table and today, wet mopped the floor. And he tidies his room real neat.
Most of all, God has given him a sensitive heart. Whenever he hears an "ouch" from me, he's always quick to check if I'm alright. (josh has trained him well too.)
He's really my darling boy.

babySIM is 16weeks old :)

here is babySIM's first photo session at 16 weeks, medical check-up #3... Praise GOD for the medical assessment by Dr Benjamin Tham, he says "the baby's perfectly healthy and growing very well".
but you must know that at the 2nd medical check-up, Dr Tham was both surprised and relieved at babySIM's development because he later confessed to us that he actually did not expect babySIM to survive from what he saw at the 1st medical check-up (but he did not tell us about this!). So at the 2nd check-up when he saw in the ultrascan that babySIM developed so much so suddenly, he could only attribute it to divine intervention - God did it!
Our God is good! Life is in His hands. Our future too.
People ask me as the sole breadwinner whether I worry for the future...about being able to afford raising 3 kids... i just tell them my conviction 'if children are indeed a gift from God, then He will see them through life and life's challenges. It's not a question if He will do it, it's a matter of having a greater sense of surrender to God to sustain and provide for me and my family. And He has and will. We have and will continue to experience His favour upon us, and with that fruitfulness, in every aspect of our lives.'
Walk this journey with us, and see this unfold :) it's exciting, very exciting indeed!
